Mini-Vacation to see the Biltmore Estates

We went on a little trip (6.5 hour drive) to Ashville, North Carolina to visit the Biltmore Estates. It was fantastic, amazing house, I can't imagine there were ever children and dogs running through the house. The woodwork and craftmanship was impressive and so far ahead of their time in so many ways.

It was nice for us two to get away and just walk around the grounds, the garden, talk without being interrupted by kids (not that mine would ever do that..ha!) and ordering adult meals for two with no extra napkins please.

I think we need to do this more often. We had a great time!

Notice the picture of the moon and sunset. They were taken at exactly the same time on our way home. That was really cool to see as well.

Take care everyone!

  1. Welcome back! Glad you are home safe and sound and it seems that you had a terrif time! I'm so glad for that. Isn't it just the best to be able to re-connect with your honey and just focus on each other. So? What one thing did you notice/remember that reminded you of why you fell in love with him?
I know when my dear hubby and I go on our mini vacations, I seem to "renotice" something and then I feel that warm fuzzy feeling all over again :0)

  2. Oh my gosh Rechelle, you are so right about getting the warm and fuzzy again... We laughed, it took us a while to laugh at some of the silly things we said or did 20 years ago... but then we loosened up. It's like you're always expecting to be interrupted so you don't talk for a while. Anyway, we both were more willing to do what the other wanted to do instead of just rushing through on our little escapade. Then we laughed, a lot, on the way home as we reminisced about the early years. That was priceless!!

  3. Dear Yira ... when I lived in Florida and in Georgia I always planned to drive to the Biltmore Estates, but never made the time. I am so sorry I didn't. As you have shown, it's a wonderful place to experience.

  4. Biltmore is one of my favorite places to visit. I have been 4 times. My favorite time of year to visit is in May during "festival of flowers". Christmas season there is a real treat as well. Glad that you had the chance to visit and get away. Take care.
