Outdoor Wednesday - Iguana by the Bay

Outdoor Wednesday is hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer.  Stop by to see what other fantastic outdoor pics others are showing off!

This friendly iguana was looking food at the Bayview Restaurant - we're not allowed to feed the iguanas, for obvious reasons.

My little man spotted what he calls "a crocodile."

And of course, the view is just amazing from the restaurant, inside and out.  I really can't complain.  Living in Guantanamo has been an experience like no other and to think I have 2 more years to go.

Glad to be back, now that school is out for me and I am done, for now! So happy to be free of text books, papers, and late night writings that are not necessarily fun.

Enjoy your outdoors today and everyday!

  1. wow. cool!
so not to be an idiot but I'm guessing you must have ties to military? to be in Gitmo? And the whole family is there? Somehow I always figured that was a solo assignment - not that I am up on these things - it was just an assumption.
love the iguana photo - my oldest is a bit of a reptile nut and she'd be wild to see one this size just 'out and about'
    neat photo of the view

  2. Cailin, thank you for visiting. I'm sort of a returning participant hoping to get back in touch with old and new online friends around the world. I totally did not expect this environment here in Guantanamo Bay - yes we are on the Naval Station GTMO Cuba. Many families live here and some love it so much they manage to stay longer then they are required. It is a great place for kids, lots to do, easy lifestyle, not a lot of distraction... it's really not bad, except for the heat, humidity and bugs that come with that but that's not year round and there are ways to stay away from those pesky bugs. If you visit my other blog http://lifeingtmobay.blogspot.com I talk a lot about what we do here, share pictures of the beautiful beaches, etc. Feel free to take a look.

    Thanks again for visiting.
